Configuring ODBC on Windows

If you want to execute the tutorial examples Displaying Data from a Database, Displaying Data from a Database With Headers and Defining Spans Based on Structure, you need to create a link to the Access 97 MDB file (sales.mdb). This document describes the configuration of the ODBC driver running on Windows 95/98/NT/2000 platform.

The first step is to run the ODBC Administrator (Note) and add the new Link.

 

Now, you can run the examples.

 

Note:
Your login must have administrator privilege.
On Windows 2000 the ODBC Administrator is located in Control Panel=>Administrative Tools.
On Windows 95/98/NT the ODBC Administrator is located in Control Panel.
